What this site does not do

This site sets no cookies. It runs no adverts, and nothing on it follows you to other sites.

The typefaces are stored on this site’s own server, so reading a page sends no request to Google Fonts or any other font service.

Nothing you send is sold, shared for marketing or used for advertising.

The contact form

If you write to me through the contact form, the form collects:

  • the door you chose (for example “Collaborate” or “Press”)
  • your message
  • your name and email address
  • your organisation, if you choose to give it

The form also has a hidden field that people never see. Automated spam programs tend to fill it in, so anything typed there marks a message for review.

The robot check

To keep out automated spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that usually runs without asking you to do anything. It does not use cookies for advertising and does not track you across other sites.

To decide whether you are a person, Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and how the page was loaded. Cloudflare describes this in its Turnstile privacy addendum.

Where your message goes

The site itself stores nothing: there is no database. When you press Send, your message is passed once to Resend, an email delivery service, which delivers it to me as an email.

The email is kept in my Zoho Mail inbox, in a folder for the door you chose. That email is the only record of your message.

You receive an automatic acknowledgement at the address you gave, also delivered by Resend. Every message reaches me first, and I reply personally.

Messages that fail the robot checks are filed in a separate folder that I review by hand, and their senders receive no acknowledgement. Nothing there is deleted automatically.

If you choose “Send a signal”, what you send may be used, anonymised, in a future Perspective unless you ask me not to.

How long it is kept

I keep your message in my Zoho Mail inbox until our conversation is finished, and then I delete it. If you would like it deleted sooner, just ask (see below).

Counting visits

To see how many people read the site and which pages they read, it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not identify you or follow you to other sites. It counts the page you visited, the page you came from, your type of browser and device, and your country, worked out from your IP address. Your IP address is not kept for this.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address. Cloudflare does not publish a fixed period for keeping this information: its privacy policy says it keeps data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, and then deletes it.

Asking for deletion, and your other rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you have sent me. To ask, write to me through the contact form, choosing “Something else”, or by email at [email protected].

Tell me the name and email address you used, so I can find your messages. I will delete them from my inbox and confirm by email once it is done.
